- Understanding the concept of meters in music
- Going through the subdivision ladder with a twist of going beyond the conventional system.
- Identifying pulses
- Understanding how phrasing works as building blocks for larger compositions
- Using pulse to identify odd meters.
- Understanding the nature of songs in different time signatures.
- Composing basic song structures using the different ideas of phrasing in even meters.
- Understanding the logic of composition in songs with odd meters
- Breaking down songs into smaller fragments.
- Transcribing complex rhythms in simple songs.
- Using the above concepts to write a tune from scratch.
- Understanding the difference between MICRO and MACRO RHYTHM
- Introduction to tuplets and Nested tuplets
- Mixing micro and macro Rhythms to better aid us in composition
- Introduction to polyrhythm and polymeters
