Q. How many semesters are there in the programme?
Three Semesters, September 1, January, May 1
Q. Can we switch between online/offline?
Yes, with the exception of ensemble classes which must be on campus
Q. What Level is the programme for?
For Beginners and Intermediates, the level will be assessed upon audition. Auditions allow us to execute the programme at a level which is relevant to the student’s ability.
Q. Can I do this if I want to compose/record/perform hindi music?
Yes, however the programme only focuses on western modern music, the skills you learn during the programme may be applied to other genres or languages.
Q. Do I get a Certificate?
Yes
Q. What are the benefits of doing this programme?
Performance-based approach, modern and relevant curriculum, personalised learning, focus on improvisation, community and networking.
Q. I want to sing and accompany with guitar/piano, is this programme for me, which option is best?
You can select our Vocal programme, and in addition to that, you can select among our Elective courses which are oriented to accompaniment (e.g. Piano for vocalists)
Q. I want to learn jazz; which option should I choose?
Our curriculum across all instruments is fundamentally based on Jazz language. Elective courses specialised in specific Jazz content are available.
Q. Can you share the syllabus/e-book/curriculum?
Yes! The semester-wise description will be available soon.
Q. How is this different from private classes offered by Goa Jazz Academy?
The One-Year Programme will follow a specially designed learning path that aligns multiple musical disciplines and allows a musician to upskill within a defined period.
Q. Is the ensemble option only for people who want to learn Jazz?
The beginner jazz ensemble is a great way for musicians who may not be exposed to the world of improvisation to learn about jazz, the skills you learn from a jazz ensemble experience are beneficial to many other genres and styles.
