The Jazz ensemble programme by the Goa Jazz academy was probably one of the best courses I have attended. It changed my perception towards playing and i got a wider understanding of not just jazz but music in general. The programme taught me a lot in 3 months, which anywhere else would have taken ages. I also got to work with other great musicians which was very interesting and I learnt a lot from them.

The jazz ensemble course at Goa Jazz Academy has been a life-changing experience for me. The instructors are so passionate and knowledgeable, their enthusiasm is contagious! I’ve learned so much about jazz theory, improvisation, composition and performance techniques, and I feel like I’ve grown tremendously as a musician and as a person. If you’re interested in jazz, I highly recommend this course – it’s truly something special. I am so grateful to be part of such a vibrant community. We support and challenge each other, and the bonds we have formed will last a lifetime.

With the WIJ programme, I found the direction I was always looking for. I started feeling more comfortable with the fretboard and actually deriving joy out of playing. The best part is making small decisions in the choice of notes, it feels great to have this autonomy. What’s even better is that I’ve started feeling motivated to pursue music, unlike before, because of the perspective this course gave me towards not just the bass, but music in general.

The eight-week programme taught me to listen to others, to give them space, to compete and collaborate. It didn’t just improve me as a musician, it improved me as a person
